
On behalf of the Watertown Association for Youth Soccer (WAYS), thank you for your interest in serving as a volunteer coach.
Please note that prior to any coach commencing the season with his/her team, you are required to complete a Background Check (if over the age of 18), SafeSport Training and Concussion Training in accordance with the rules set forth by the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association, as well as state and federal law.
Step-by-step directions on how to complete each of these respected requirements are below for your reference and convenience:
To Register to coach/volunteer:
Login to your WAYS account.
Go to the Volunteer tab on the left.
Look for the available positions and sign up accordingly.
(Coaches can also register during the player registration process)
If you are having trouble accessing your account, DO NOT CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT!

Requirements- All Coaches:
1. Background Check (Risk Status)
2. Safe Sport certification (Must renew annually)
3. Concussion certification
4. Read Northwest District Handbook
COMPLETING YOUR COACHING REQUIREMENTS:
1.Coaches can see the status of their coaching requirements by looking at the Volunteer tab in their Watertown Soccer Club account.
2.To be able to coach you must have a check in a circle under Compliant next to Risk Status, Concussion Certificate and Safe Sport.
If you see a yellow triangle, you are not in compliance.
3. To complete the certifications: Check the box to the left of each item (one at a time) and click on Renew & Update and follow the instructions.
Those are the only three you need marked compliant.
YOU DO NOT NEED A COACHING CERTIFICATE!
